"담다"
나의 작업은 일기이며, 나 자신을 찾아가는 여정이다. 예술을 논하거나 철학을 앞세우지 않아도좋다. 거창한 담론보다는 유행가처럼 그 시대에 스며들고, 함께 흘러가고 싶다.
나는 특정한 사조나 기법에 나를 가두지 않는다. 매일의 생각, 매 순간의 감정을 내가 좋아하는 도구로 기록한다. 그렇게 내 그림은 하루하루의 기록이되고, 나라는 사람의 흔적이 된다.
과거의 나는 삶에 치여, 창밖을 통해서야 비로소 내 바람을 들여다보곤 했다. 최근 몇 년간은 사회와 정치의 풍경 속에서 인간의 욕망을 바라보았고, 그 치열한 현재를 담았다. 그리고 이제는 소소한 평안과 작은 기쁨, 소박한 바람을 담고자 한다.
이 모든 흐름을 작업 안에 담는다. 마치 쇼핑카트에 하나씩 담듯, 나의 과거와 현재, 그리고 바라는 미래까지. 그렇게 쌓인 작업들이 결국은 ‘나’라는 존재를 이루는 이야기이기를 바란다.
