다난한 기억들 냉정한 현실, 그 선택의 순간들이 흑백의 체크 무늬로 일렁인다. 현실을 그대로 직시하는 진솔한 몸짓과 격렬한 포즈에서 긴장감이나 역동성보다는 삶의 애착과 가족애, 그리고 자기성찰이 느껴진다. 화려하지도 강하지도 않은 표현들이 담담하게 작품 곳곳에서 묻어나 고단했지만 꿋꿋하게 살아낸 삶의 해학이 엿보인다.

채 피어보지도 못하고 부서져 버린 꽃잎을 흩날리며 잠시 머물다 돌아간 천상병 시인의 나들이는 이 시대의 아픈 손가락이며 그의 삶이 꼭 그만의 삶이 아니라 보통의 사람들 삶 속에서도 파편처럼 여기저기서 배어 나와 깊은 공감을 갖게 된다. 작가는 이러한 우리들의 삶을 춤으로 빚어내고 있다.

연작 ‘소풍’에서도 환희나 기쁨, 행복보다는 삶의 선택 속에서 받았던 상처와 절망을 치유하려는 때로는 복원하려는 시도가 엿보이고 절망보다는 희망을 노래하고 침묵보다는 격정적인 춤으로 순간을 그려내고 있다.

따스함이 피어나고 주변의 삶이 그림 속으로 스며들어와 새로운 나들이가 시작된다. 이 ‘소풍’은 잠시나마 무뎌진 일상에서 쳇바퀴 돌듯 돌아가는 우리들에게 삶의 저 너머로 이끌어 주는 창이 되어주는 것이다.

Rough memories and brutal reality, those moments of decision linger in black & white patterns of checks. From this truthful and aggressive moves, you do not recognize nervousness nor animation but rather love for my life, my family and introspection. The expressions that not too strong or too fancy have troubled me so far, however they are the humor my persistent and exhausting life.

Chun Sang-Byung, a poet who had perished before the flowers in him had still yet blossomed, is like the broken finger of this era. His inspirations touch us all and not only they stem from his own life but also from fragments of all of us. The author is expressing our lives from dance moves.

In his work ‘Picnic (SoPoong) we can often infer the efforts for restoration from scars and despair rather than happiness and joy. He sings of hope rather than despair and dances of aggression rather than silence.

The warmth smeres into the paintings along with lives around it, bringing the beginning of new trip. This ‘trip’ is the guiding light that leads all of us to hope, a hope that we all need from our dull lives.
