녹슨 철길은 살아있다
1963년 개통된 교외선은 2004년 여객운행이 중단되었다.
70년대에는 일영과 장흥 송추 등이 대학생들의 MT 와 젊은이들의 데이트 장소로 인기를 끌었으나 자가용이 보급되면서 승객이 급감했기 때문이다.
자본주의 논리에 의해 상처를 받은 자연이 스스로 보여주는 놀라운 복원 능력에 희망을 느낀다. 이름 모를 풀들이 원래 그들의 영역 이였다는 듯 철길을 뒤덮었다.
능곡역 앞에서 벌판을 바라보며 경의선과 같이 출발하는 교외선은 대곡역에 이르러 서로 방향을 달리하며 각자의 길을 간다.
코로나사태 이후 집 가까운 능곡역에서 의정부까지 긴 산책을 즐기는 동안 철길 주변 사람들의 생활이 눈에 들어왔다. 녹슨 철길에는 주민들의 삶이 계절마다 진솔하게 펼쳐진다.
