<작가소개>
끊임없이 변화하는 개인의 정체성을 캐릭터에 투영하여 이야기합니다.
회화 작업을 주로 하면서 캐릭터를 조형물로 표현하기도 합니다.
현대사회를 살아가는 개인의 정체성에 대한 고민을 가지고 그것을 화면 위에 풀어내고 있습니다. 이념과 거대 담론이 사라진 시대에 개인은 해체되고 파편화 되어 자신이 누구인지를 스스로 증명해야 하는 과제에 놓였습니다. 그러나 나라는 사람에 대한 설명은 시간과 장소, 상황에 따라 계속해서 변화하기에 고정되고 완전한 하나를 찾는 일은 완수 될 수 없는 과제입니다. 정체성은 그저 수없이 많은 ‘나의 속성’들의 뭉쳐짐에 가깝기 때문입니다. 그렇기에 캐릭터는 자화상이면서 동시에 아무도 아닌 누군가로, 단순하고 흐릿한 모호성으로 표현되어 있습니다. 캐릭터는 오직 변화하는 나의 모습들을 담는 그릇으로서의 캐릭터이기 때문입니다.
